Certified Enterprise Architect (CEA) Black Belt - Fall 2025 (F25BB)

 

Course Format & Schedule

Format:

  • This course is presented totally on-line in our Virtual University.
  • All live sessions are in Eastern Time.

Schedule of Events:

  • Weeks 1-3: Facilitated self-study will take place online at the FEAC Virtual University. Students will focus on the fundamental elements of enterprise architecture practice, using case studies and examples. Additionally, you will start preparing for your practicum, where you will be responsible for developing an architecture description based on a selected problem. Students will attend a short (1HR) end-of-week session to review progress and ask questions.
  • Week 4: Instructor-Led Workshop #1: This is a two-day, hands-on facilitated session (Tues/Weds). Students will present their practicum scope of work. Labs will focus on structuring their architecture model repository and reviewing the FEAC ADAPT methodology. Students will also examine the Minimum Viable Architecture (MVA) artifacts and begin development. Additionally, students will participate in a short (1HR) end-of-week session (Fri) to review their progress and ask questions.
  • Week 5: Facilitated Self-Study online at the FEAC Virtual University. Students will resume the development of required MVA artifacts. Students will also identify additional supporting artifacts to extend those identified in the MVA.
  • Week 6: Instructor-Led Workshop #2: This is a two-day, hands-on facilitated session (Tues/Weds). Students will present their practicum models. The workshop will also include discussions on road mapping and architectural analysis techniques. Students will participate in a short (1HR) end-of-week (Fri) session to review their progress and ask questions. Greenbelts will complete a final certification exam, while Blackbelts will complete a mid-term assessment.
  • Weeks 7-9: Facilitated self-study online at the FEAC Virtual University. Blackbelt students will engage in a mix of video lectures and assignments that deepen their understanding of enterprise architecture. Additionally, Blackbelt students will begin their final exams online at the FEAC Virtual University. This will include discussions on developing and maturing an EA practice and its services. Students will participate in a short (1HR) end-of-week session to review their progress and ask questions.
  • Week 10: Facilitated self-study online at the FEAC Virtual University. Blackbelt students will finalize their Practicum Integrated Architecture Description (IAD) models, Architecture Description Document (ADD), and stakeholder briefings. Students will be presented with options for presenting their stakeholder briefings.

Registration Policies

Registration Policies:

  • All confirmed registrations must be paid in advance.
    • Special arrangements can be made for select government agencies. Please contact us for these special arrangements.
  • All early bird registrations must be paid by the cut off date, or else invoice will be adjusted to regular price.
  • Registrations are transferable within your organization (to a colleague) on request until 2 days before the event date.
  • Confirmation of registrations will be subject to availability and timely receipt of payment.
  • Prices stated here include tax. Import duties and/or local taxes/GST/VAT, if applicable, are NOT INCLUDED in prices and must be borne by the registrant.
  • Registrations may also be transferred to a future course date if student are unable to attend.
  • Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • For cancellation, please refer to the "Cancellation Policy" section below.
  • Registration allows us to use the name of your organization in our future marketing activities as our customer and you also release us to publish any images taken of the student for marketing purposes.

Cancellation Policy:

  • The following cancellation fees apply for cancellation of registrations received in writing via fax, email or phone:
    • 25 days prior to the scheduled date: 10% of total the registration fee will be levied to cover administration costs. In addition, a refund charge of $25 USD is also applicable.
    • 15 days prior to the scheduled date: 20% of total the registration fee will be levied to cover administration costs. In addition, a refund charge of $25 USD is also applicable.
    • 5 days prior to the scheduled date: no refund of monies paid.
  • Registrations are transferrable within your organization (to a colleague) on request until 2 days before the event date.
  • Registrations may also be transferred to a future course date if student are unable to attend.
  • Deposit payments are non-refundable.

Note: the above cancellation policy is applicable for confirmed but unpaid registrations as well. There will be NO exceptions to this policy for any reason.

The FEAC Institute reserves the right to postpone or cancel an event, to change the location of an event. In the event that the FEAC Institute postpones a conference, delegate payments at the postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the delegate will receive 100% credit representing payments made towards a future FEAC Institute events or you may send a replacement. No refunds will be available for cancellations or postponements.

The FEAC Institute is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of substitution, alteration, postponement, or cancellation of an event due to causes beyond its control including without limitation, acts of God, natural disasters, sabotage, accident, trade or industrial disputes, terrorism or hostilities.
