Beyond the Use Case: Architecting for Improved Context and Understanding

A Short, Self-paced Course

The use case remains a popular methodology to identify, clarify, and organize system requirements by both business and system analysts.

Whether done as a diagrammatic or tabular format, capturing a set of possible sequences of interactions between systems and users in a particular environment remains a useful communication tool. However, use cases are often just a step in capturing more complex requirements. The objective is not to define specific use cases but to extend them to understand enterprise outcomes fully.

Join us in this short session on developing three simple models to extend a use case and put it into the larger enterprise system context.

This course is broken into three sections:

  1. Video presentation materials that cover the course content
  2. Course slides, Use-Case supporting documentation, and practice model repository
  3. 10 question quiz

Upon successfully completing the quiz, you will receive a digital certificate via email recorded on our certificate blockchain, providing proof to others of your accomplishment.
